Ed Waugh is an electronics and software engineer from the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton

meet the engineering team - Ed Waugh

My involvement in this project

I am leading the design of the electronics and software that will run the water samplers in the probe. This is a critical part of the sampling system and will require very high reliability. We will achieve this through a mixture of redundant systems, Highly Accelerated Life Testing for the hardware and unit testing for the software.

What does being in this project mean to you personally?

I’m very excited to be involved with the project, especially the opportunity to visit Antarctica and work with the team from BAS.

Have you been to Antarctica before?

No, but I’m looking forward to going!
